The Manager of Alumni Impact and Corps Member Onboarding is an important member of Delaware s regional team. This role will fuel critical components of our regional organization that enable our members to receive development and support throughout their experience with Teach For America. You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our alumni programming and the onboarding of corps members each year. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy work that requires extensive attention to detail. You know the importance of relationship building and are able to do so across lines of difference. This role is part of a highly collaborative regional team and reports to the Senior Managing Director of Program. THE ORGANIZATION There are more than 16 million children growing up in poverty in the U.S., and less than 10 percent of them will graduate from college. These statistics are not a reflection of our children s potential; we know that children growing up in poverty can and do achieve at the highest levels. Rather, these statistics reflect the systemic lack of access and opportunity for children in low-income communities. Teach For America s (TFA) mission is to find, develop, and support a diverse network of leaders committed to expanding opportunity for children from classrooms, schools, and every sector and field that shapes the broader systems in which schools operate. THE PERSON Alumni Cultivation and Support (50%) Set a vision, advertise and implement consistent and ongoing programming for alumni including but not limited to: Professional Development events, Excellent School Visit(s), PLC leadership, 1:1 coaching meetings Engage with second year corps members and coaches to alumnihood build transition plans Meet individually with a portfolio of alumni to share resources, tools and coaching to assist with short- and long-term career goals and opportunities that leverages their interests, strengths, and experiences Connect fellow alumni to meaningful volunteer opportunities, share updates on Teach For America, maintain alumni connection with the Teach For America movement, and motivate alumni to take action Partner with alumni volunteer groups to help them achieve their goals throughout the year; specifically, the Alumni Advisory Board and local chapter of The Collective (TFA s Alumni of Color Network) Manage our annual Alumni Survey Campaign Cross-manage other regional teams and team members to reach outcomes related to Alumni Affairs goals Develop and execute year-long and quarterly plans for engaging alumni volunteers Engage with alumni educators to understand their needs around professional development, networking, and career support Set and execute plans to celebrate the ongoing contributions of our alumni educators, leveraging the broader alumni network, and build a stronger collaborative community between alumni educators Understand the human capital needs of our school partners and connect our alumni educators with opportunities that match their interests and expertise Draft high quality written communications and professionally respond to alumni with a high level of customer service. Manage on-line communication systems to improve alumni networking Lead social opportunities for alumni to engage and connect with each other Utilize data management systems to accurately report alumni data, conduct analysis, and make data-based recommendations Update information in Teach For America's constituent relationship management system Plan and manage annual Alumni Induction Corps Member Onboarding (30%) Set vision and direction for regional confirmation campaigns, design materials and trainings, cross-manage regional team to execute confirmation plans and drive toward ambitious results Set vision and direction for the onboarding of incoming corps members, create a year-long scope and sequence of communication, training and onboarding systems and track progress to goal Design and manage all incoming corps member communication and training including blasts, social media channels, live and recorded webinars, regional matriculation website, etc. Create and manage systems to collect and track required documentation that corps members must submit to university partner, schools, and state agencies to become teachers Work in partnership with the team to prepare incoming corps members for Induction and Institute Lead Across the Movement (20%) Be a part of the community, beyond the direct work with corps members and alumni Foster a diverse movement by partnering with parents, teachers and school leaders from the communities we serve Own and support broader regional and organizational priorities (i.e. help select new corps members, regional induction, corps member programming etc.) Attend regional professional development and national conferences to meet with and learn from peers from all regions (travel may be required) Engage in diversity conversations and exploration of your self-identity THE MUST HAVESPrior Experience THE MUST HAVES Bachelor's degree required; Master s Degree in teaching, education, leadership or management preferred Minimum of three years of experience achieving ambitious outcomes as a classroom teacher in a low-income community Deep knowledge of effective teaching practices Teach For America corps member experience preferred/ Teach For America alumnus/a highly preferred Skills Building strong relationships with others, including across lines of difference Managing or influencing others to achieve a vision that is aligned to goals and priorities Coaching others to tangible improvement in their performance Operating with urgency and sense of possibility to achieve ambitious, measurable results Analyzing data to draw accurate conclusions and to inform team management approach Making informed, timely decisions and using sound judgment to prioritize actions Tracking tasks, assessing progress, and following through on the execution of plans Inspiring committed and positive action toward individual and organizational goals Developing adults awareness, knowledge and skills as it relates to diversity specifically, race, class and identity development THE TEAM The Delaware regional team is focused on ensuring that the 137,000 students in our state can learn and grow in a reimagined education system that was designed for their success.
