Basic Function : Responsible for all aspects of trust administration and servicing of high net-worth private and institutional clients. Daily contact with Trust clients to answer general inquiries, or facilitate client requests. Process all transactions to include collection of critical documents, processing of cash disbursements, account balances, establishing new accounts, facilitating client requests for discretionary distributions, trust terminations, etc., to ensure proper administrative management. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist in the management of large (as defined by the business) accounts, ensuring complete and accurate documentation is maintained. Foster client relationships, occasionally serving as the point of contact for client questions either directly from the client and/or the client representative. Work collaboratively with the teams Fiduciary Advisor and the Relationship Manager to resolve issues, escalate as appropriate and make referrals to the correct resource. Make recommendations for services to correct and/or enhance the client accounts; resolve problems and respond to client requests, both standard and unique. Proactively manage relationships with internal and external service partners so that after assessing issues that need immediate attention or can be resolved through the normal course of business, you know with who you need to work to resolve the issue. Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge trust, planning and basic investment disciplines and begins to develop a broader knowledge of trust account management, fiduciary concepts, investment, credit, and insurance disciplines. Provides/maintains appropriate levels of controls to minimize possible losses Draft materials for client meetings and prepare board packets. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of corporate policies and procedures related to the administrative role. As appropriate to the business supported, develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of the trust and agency discipline and service/product alternatives for the client. Stays current and is able to articulate current industry standards. Provide effective day-to-day support, coaching, and/or mentoring of any assigned team associates. Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. NATURE AND SCOPE : Direct contact with clients, internal resources and external (i.e. clients/customers, investment professionals, attorneys, etc.) professionals/businesses in support of the client relationship. Support the efforts of a variety of professionals to include any/all of Fiduciary Advisors, Relationship Managers, unit managers and supervisors, to name a few. Work within a team environment that requires not only individual focus but actions that support the group as a whole. Ability to work on multiple tasks under limited supervision in a fast paced environment. MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY : Team work leadership of lower level Client Administrators. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience with direct client contact. OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED : Degree focus on Finance/Accounting/Economics preferred. Strong focus on customer service and satisfaction; direct client contact. Strong skills in office applications (Microsoft Office) and able to rapidly learn new software applications Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build a significant level of trust with clients; empathy and a real interest in working with people. Self-confident and a proven ability to work well with highly capable and successful individuals. Basic trust planning experience and basic investment knowledge. Strong analytical ability. Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with administrative support areas appropriate to the business unit. Examples include Operations and Legal groups.
