The North American Payroll team services the Americas countries with primary oversight for payroll operations including all facets of downstream support. The overall Americas Payroll organization has four main work streams; Payroll Operations, Timekeeping, Case Management and US Payroll Tax & Accounting; with a regional model of U. S. employees primarily based in Delaware, US and a large presence in our Bengaluru, India Shared Services Center. Key Responsibilities Provide tax analyst and compliance support to the Payroll Tax team, including employees and the team members. Direct contacts to interpret tax information to ensure employees are correctly taxed for payroll payments. Proactively identifies any potential tax issues and work with leadership, team and technology partners to remediate as necessary. Remain current on all federal, state, state unemployment, and local payroll tax updates and filing needs. Manage and monitor tax cases to completion and ensure the service level agreement time frames are maintained while satisfying the employee s needs, the first time. Review, coordinate and validate all tax changes entered into the payroll system. Ensure all are well tested prior to implementation.Coordinate and execute tax filing activities partnering with ADP and Payroll Tax Team. Run ADP quarterly processing preliminary files until the Final Production File is due. Utilize Balancing Reports, Quarter Error Reports, and Critical Error reports along with PeopleSoft queries for research and resolution. Liaison with ADP, Employee Data Management Team, and Payroll OperationsCoordinate, participate and execute system testing of PeopleSoft tax patch updates & System Enhancements which includes SOX quality control review of table changes and implementation of ad hoc initiatives for any Tax Regulatory changes. Process to include setup of request in the system, validation of setup and monitoring of accuracy Partnership with ADP Technical Support, Payroll Operations, and HR Technology. Coordinate Merger and Acquisition (M&A) as well as Divestiture project activities to ensure all Payroll Tax requirements are provided, satisfied and implementation/divestiture is successful. Partner with ADP ensuring proper (M&A) governance for Legal Entity and Jurisdiction set-upDemonstrate ability to process Tax Amendments resulting from W2C s, M&A, and Legal Entity Consolidations following up on all tax refunds and tax balances due. Requires the utilization of ADP Amendment ToolsAnalyze, improve and develop preventive payroll queries to ensure proper Employer and Employee Payroll TaxationProficient knowledge of W-2 and W-2C complianceOversight of agency notice review & resolution and direct experience with agenciesCompile data (Tax returns, etc.) and support tax auditsAble to calculate manually gross to net including tax calculationActively participate End of Year activities, and other projects requiring tax expertiseEnsures accurate employee tax data in coordination with the Legal and Corporate Tax DepartmentsAble to present research findings to Senior Executives in a clear and professional mannerAble to communicate effectively with current and former employees on complicated tax issuesMust be flexible with extended hours that maybe required during critical deadlines Qualifications 3-5 years Integrated Payroll System (preferably PeopleSoft and HCM Cloud) and multi-state payroll tax experiencePeopleSoft experience a plus, strong PeopleSoft query, SQL and SQR knowledge and expertiseAdvanced Microsoft Suite experience (Word, Excel, Access)Excellent organizational skills with attention to detailBe a self-starter, fast learner, and team player and demonstrated leadership skillsStrong interpersonal and relationship management skills, strong client focusKnowledge of ADP Tax Service Operations and ApplicationsStrong analytical and technical skills (Tax and Financial)Knowledge of Global Business Travel Taxation preferredAbility to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing initiativesDemonstrated strong project management skillsFlexible and adaptable to ongoing changes, to ensure success for the greater good of the entire HRSD global family
